Principal Advisor

Dr. Stacey Shaw has 15 years of behavioral health leadership and clinical experience serving patients and organizations as a licensed clinical social worker and substance use disorder professional. Stacey specializes in behavioral health regulatory policy, and she is an expert in Joint Commission standards as well as survey readiness pertaining to behavioral health and state regulated services. Dr. Shaw uses her experience to support organizations with survey readiness and individuals through counseling services.


By focusing on changing lives one moment at a time, Dr. Shaw has been able to put her Doctor of Social Work she earned at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville to good use. Over the years, Dr. Shaw’s strengths at Northpoint Recovery have garnered some recognition for policy/ procedure writing and committee approval, survey readiness, and the greatest survey success in the history of the organization. In addition to the work completed at Northpoint Recovery as the Vice President of Compliance, Dr. Shaw supported the clinical team while working at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital, overseeing more than 5 departments. Dr. Shaw led surveys by The Joint Commission, CMS, and state surveyors.


Dr. Shaw was also provided with an opportunity to work with the Department of Defense- Army and Air Force at Joint Base Lewis McChord. She initially started as a substance use counselor; however, through her devotion and research during her doctoral studies within the military, she was able to be a part of the pilot reintegration of behavioral health and substance use services lines. Through the success of this reintegration, Dr. Shaw became the Assistant Director of the Social Work Internship Program, Dr. Shaw assisted and prepared active-duty providers in their various clinical rotations that included ongoing regulatory operations support to ensure survey readiness.
